Our Work in Peru
Widows and orphans are living in shanty settlements. They need light and hope.
A widow's home built in less than one hour for only $950
Along with our volunteers and partners, we can build one home for a widow and her family in one hour or less giving us the opportunity to build at least three-to-four homes in one day! Occasionally some locations may take a full day depending on the land topography.
Peru's poverty level is astounding
35%
of Peru's population lives in shanty settlements

50%
of Peruvian women have been victims in domestic violence
How we can work together to make a difference

New Life Children's Home
As we began to look for ways to increase the impact of Global Partners in Life, we were connected with Mike Kennedy who has been serving in Peru for decades. The work he has done for New Life Children’s Home, the orphanage we support in Peru, has been incredible. It seemed like the perfect fit to continue our work in helping orphans around the world.
The New Life Children’s Home works with government counselors and case workers to help the children get adopted. The orphanage even provides psychological counseling which is so important for children in need, especially those who have been abused, lost parents to drugs, needed to be removed from being potentially exposed to the sex trafficking industry, etc. Having a loving support system and getting an education is key to the work done at New Life Children’s Home in hopes of providing a better future for these precious children.
Building Homes for Widows
One of the ways we help widows in Peru is by building homes and providing necessities. With a young legal marriage age (16) for women and a much higher life expectancy age, many women find themselves widowed. As women generally earn 46% less than their male counterparts in Peru, many of these widows find themselves in serious financial need.
We are working to provide more housing through our partners and volunteers. Currently, we have built 193 homes to create a secure, stable environment for them to live day-to-day.
